The Community Archives and Heritage Group (CAHG) has named the Birmingham People’s History Archive as their Group of the Month for September 2024. The CAHG is a national group which aims to support and promote community archives within the UK & Ireland. Since 2006 they have organised an annual conference and since 2011 they hold an awards competition each year celebrating community archives and promoting best practise within the industry.
The CAHG selects a different community-run archive from nationwide each month to highlight. The BPHA gaining this recognition is a tremendous honour and will help raise awareness of our mission nationally. We are also proud to be included in their Archive Map.
