On Monday 24 February, Professor Chris Winch of King’s College London spoke on behalf of the Birmingham People’s History Archive at the BMI, on the subject of Britain’s apprenticeship system, past and present.
In a well-attended and wide-ranging lecture, Chris outlined the problems associated with the deskilling of the British workforce and the various unsuccessful attempt made by successive governments to address the issue.
